Update of the Salisbury Township School District (STSD) Master Facility Plan dated November 2023

In preparing this update, a condition survey was performed of the buildings. The costs and items of work noted in this report address the existing conditions only and do not include costs for new additions or renovations based on program and space needs. This portion of the facility plan would require input from the STSD.

D'Huy Engineering, Inc. would like to thank the Salisbury Township School District for allowing us to continue to do maintenance. In particular we would like to thank William Brackett, the Administration, and the Board of Directors for their input and direction in developing a plan that meets the STSD's specific needs.

This report does not include items that are considered regular maintenance items and does not include costs for new additions that may be required and are not recommended in the report. Items with an estimated cost below $5,000 are generally not shown in the report unless they are part of a much larger project when aggregated. It is anticipated that projects with costs less than $5,000 would be handled through annual repair and maintenance budgets. For example, a single area may cost less than $5,000 to replace carpet; however, when there are an adequate number of areas to be carpeted in a single building, they may show up on the list.

A majority of the cost estimates for work recommended and listed for the buildings were prepared from partial and/or schematic plans and site observations. The estimates were also calculated using the best available information at the time this report was written. These cot estimates shall be considered Order of Magnitude budgets. Prior to performing any work on any facility a detailed material takeoff and review of scope (including any necessary investigative probes, testing, etc.) should be performed by qualified personnel to verify the estimated budget numbers.

D'Huy Engineering, Inc. did not review/address environmental issues such as asbestos, radon, lead, etc. Some figures regarding asbestos remediation were however extrapolated from the District AHERA report regarding Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) present in each building and have been included as an allowance for each facility. Prior to budgeting or performing any work in these areas a detailed review of these items and other environmental issues should be thoroughly investigated.
