Do you have any pets? I have one cat named Piper. How would your friends describe you? They would describe me as spontaneous, outgoing, and interesting. What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject is definitely history. I love learning about how and why things came to be. Who is your favorite teacher and why? My favorite teacher is Mr. Ruiz. He’s able to challenge me to work outside of my comfort zone, and to put in the extra work I need to. What is your favorite Salisbury memory? My favorite Salisbury memory is going on a three-day hunt to track down Mr. Koba’s meter stick. We got a lot of school work done in those three days. What is your favorite movie? Fletch, with Chevy Chase. Are you involved in any community service projects? No, but I plan on going abroad in college to study and help struggling economies and nations. Who is your role model and why? My grandfather is the strongest person I know. He’s shown me that willpower and a little know-how can go a long way. What’s next after graduation? I will be attending Lehigh University, and plan to double major in International Relations and Economics. #yoursalisbury

A little Q&A with Salisbury Senior Erin Lighting What is your full name? Erin Lighting What are your hobbies? I enjoy singing and horseback riding. Do you have any pets? I have two dogs named Lily and Bandit, a cat named Snoopy, and a horse named Banjo. How would your friends describe you? My friends would describe me as patient, fun, and a good listener. What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject is chorus because I have always loved singing, and music is a universal language that can bring people together. Who is your favorite teacher and why? My favorite teacher is Mrs. Schneider because she helped me to develop my skills as a writer. She taught me how to develop my writing style, and helped me to improve my overall communication skills. What is your favorite Salisbury memory? My favorite Salisbury memory was going around the school and singing. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Are you involved in any community service projects? I help to usher and babysit at my church. Who is your role model and why? My role model is my dad because his family is his number one priority. He wants to make sure all of us are happy, so he will do everything he can to help us. He is a handyman that can fix almost anything, and I would be lucky if I could learn to fix half of the things he does. What’s next after graduation? A little Q&A with Salisbury Senior Timmy Buda What is your full name? Timothy Joel Buda What is your spring sport? Track and Field What are your hobbies? Playing video games, disc golfing and hanging out with my friends. Do you have any pets? I have three dogs Cooper, Teddy and Daisy How would your friends describe you? Funny, dependable, stubborn, athletic What is your favorite subject? Falcon Period Who is your favorite teacher and why? Mrs. Basile or Miss DosSantos because they care about their students and during my high school career I felt I could go to them for anything. What is your favorite sports memory? Winning Against Notre Dame this year in football, or earning a district medal all 3 years I ran track. What is your favorite movie? Empire Strikes Back Are you involved in any community service projects? I did numerous community service projects for Heart of A Champion including volunteering with kids at Camp Smile, or reading to students at Harry S. Truman. Through football I was able to better connect to the Salisbury community and will always cherish the service projects we’ve done as a team. Who is your role model and why? If I could guess, kind, caring, nice, funny, willing to do anything for my friends. What is your favorite subject? Music, Art or Multimedia Who is your favorite teacher and why? Ms. Reinecke or Mrs. Burns (I don’t think Mr. Muschlitz counts). They gave me a safe place and never gave up on me. They saw the woman I am today even with all the problems and my disabilities.They believed in me that I can make the world and those halls a better place, that I could make others smile. What is your favorite Salisbury memory? When Mr. Muschlitz came to me when I was having a rough time and put a jolly rancher in front of me and said “Jolly Ranchers make everything better. It’ll be ok Emily.” What is your favorite movie? Back to the Future Are you involved in any community service projects? I coach kids in Allentown for twirling, I did Girls Scouts, and I help out with the Allentown Fair Queen. Who is your role model and why? Danny Kaye: Danny Kaye was a multi talented comedian who appeared in movies such as White Christmas, The Court Jester and The Inspector General. He went through so much and still made people smile more than anyone though. He saw the light in the darkness. He stood up for what was right. What’s next after graduation? Outgoing and funny What is your favorite subject? Math Who is your favorite teacher and why? My favorite teacher is Mrs. Basile because she has been so sweet since freshman year to me and my friends and is just an all around great person. What is your favorite sports memory? My favorite sports memory is from freshman year when Ali Hankee and I ate walking tacos in the bathrooms during a game and the coach needed Ali to go in so we had to sprint back to the field.
